Rally Fun Match
What: A ‘fun match’ is a practice show where teams are scored.
Why: Fun matches let teams practice in a show-like environment but usually with a shorter time frame and sometimes slightly less formal set up than in a real show/trial. As these are not usually held through official organizations, there may be variations in rules and teams use this time as a training opportunity.
PosiDog has been hosting agility fun matches for about 3 years and our agility students love the opportunity to show off to friends and family and to evaluate progress over time.
Who: Open to all friendly dogs over 6 months.
Note: The rally match is not a class or workshop; it is an opportunity for individuals who are training to participate in rally trials
Day/Time: Our rally match will be on Saturday, March 18th at 6:30 pm. The building will be open at 6:00.
Cost: – We will be doing two runs — you can do a Level 1 course, a Level 2 course, or do both. The fee for one course is $10, the fee for doing both is $15.
Details: We will be using WCRL rules (click here) with a few modifications:
You can feed/reward wherever you want on course – however, no luring with food or without.
There are no prerequisites for either level 1 or level 2 — you are welcome to sign up for either level
We will be giving placement ribbons determined by score. In the case of a tie, we will go by time.
You will have up to 3 minutes to do training and/or going through the course. You must get a score of 170+ to be eligible for a placement ribbon.
The match will be limited to 30 runs.
**Posidog sports students (rally, agility, nosework): We also have a rally match open only to Posidog students at 5:30 pm; students are welcome to attend both matches — email Kristen for details.
